The second year of the annual Ste. Anne Summer Market is coming to an end, with their last market being on Wednesday, September 13, from 3-7PM.

This summer has been very busy with lots of small business wanting to get involved.

Market Coordinator Pam Ottava says they did their first round of summer markets last year, and this years summer markets were a lot larger.

“It's been great, it's been growing. We doubled in size within one year.”

She already has vendors lined up for next year.

Ottava explains why they initially started to host these markets.

“I'm a member of the Ste. Anne Lions Club, and we put on events for the community and raise funds. Every dollar we raise goes right back into the community one way or another. We also like to support local, so we like to help out our local makers, bakers, growers and specialty retailers.”

The market space can fit up to 30 booths, and Ottava says their average for each market this year has been 25 vendors.

These markets are great for the community to come out and enjoy local products, and Ottava says it’s also a great opportunity for small business owners in the area.

“It gives them an opportunity to meet people and network and let their products be known so they can grow their businesses.”

Ottava enjoys being able to volunteer in the community in this way.

“It's exciting to watch things get done in the community and help it grow and put on events.”

They also hosted a Christmas market last year and plan to hold one again this year on November 25.

The last Ste. Anne Summer Market of the season will be at 183 Central Ave. in Ste. Anne.
