Hot dog lunch raises $1,943.80 for Island Breeze

The Taste of Summer Charity Barbecue on Wednesday raised $1,943.80 in support of Island Breeze, the recipient of this week’s barbecue.

"That is absolutely amazing,” says Tessa Masi. “We are so blessed, you guys. Thank you so much!”

She tells us how the money will be used.

"Money that we have come in goes straight to our DTS program,” she says. “We still have spots for people in August, and we are super pumped that we have this opportunity to disciple more young adults.”

Isi Masi says the Discipleship Training School is a key part of who they are.

"We spend three months here in Steinbach and go through different topics, and then for two months we have our outreach mission trip. That’s when we hit up a lot of communities.”

He says they usually travel to reserves in northern Manitoba as well as communities in the Caribbean.
