The Mitchell Expos are Baseball Manitoba Provincial 11U Tier One and Tier Three champions. The host Expos rallied from a 5-1 deficit with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and defeated the Winkler Mariners 6-5 in the Tier One gold medal game. Steinbach downed La Broquerie 12-1 in the 3 vs 3 pool playoff game. Mitchell beat Brandon 13-5 in the Tier Three final in Boissevain. Rock Lake shaded host Reston 3-2 in the Tier Two gold medal game. Ste. Anne lost 11-8 to Rivers in the 3 vs 3 pool playoff game. 


The Winkler Wolves defeated KPIC Maintenance of Brandon 6-2 in the gold medal game of Softball Manitoba's Provincial U15 A Championship Sunday at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach. The Steinbach Storm and Seine River both finished round robin play with 0-4 records. Brandon C & E Locksmith outscored Strathclair 19-18 in the gold medal game at the Provincial U13 A championship in Portage la Prairie. The Steinbach Storm fell 9-2 to Virden in the bronze medal game. 


The Manitoba Junior Baseball League leading Carillon Sultans and the Pembina Valley Orioles split a doubleheader Sunday in Winkler. Cedric Lagasse tossed a complete game four-hitter as Carillon won the opener 2-1. The Orioles scored twice in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings and took the second game 5-4. The Sultans are 18-5 and will play their regular season finale Wednesday at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach against Pembina Valley. 


The Winnipeg Goldeyes dropped an 8-5 decision to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Dayson Croews had three hits and an rbi for the Fish who stranded 11 base runners on Sunday. The Goldeyes have Monday off and will begin a three-game series against the defending American Association champion Kansas City Monarchs Tuesday at Blue Cross Park.  


Addison Kartusch of St. Charles captured Golf Manitoba's Provincial Women's Amateur Championship and Allan McDonald of Breezy Bend won the Provincial Men's Mid-Amateur championship at Minnedosa. Kartusch was plus four and finished six shots ahead of Jeri Lafleche of Niakwa. McDonald was minus 10 and two shots better than Drew Jones of Shilo. Tyson Ehnes of Lorette was minus six and finished in fourth place. 2023 champion Patrick Perrin of Elmhurst was minus five; Jon Schroeder of Quarry Oaks was plus three; Troy Kehler of Elmhurst was plus eight; Adam Guenther of Elmhurst was plus 14 and Matt Fatourus of Quarry Oaks was plus 32. The final round of both the Women's Amateur and Men's Mid-Am were suspended Saturday due to bad weather and completed on Sunday.
