Construction of Steinbach's new soccer park is expected to begin in a couple of weeks.  It will be built west of L.A. Barkman Park.  Head city engineer Phil Kalyta says final revisions to the plans have just been completed.  The first task is to expand the drainage channel to improve water storage when it rains.  He says about 9,000 cubic metres of soil will be moved.  Some of it will be used to sculpt the soccer fields.  The park should be ready for play next year.
