The Carillon Sultans fell 16-1 to the defending Winnipeg Senior Baseball League champion West Winnipeg A's Monday night at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach. The Sultans are 4-6 and will meet the Pembina Phillies Wednesday in Ile des Chenes. 

The Winnipeg Goldeyes begin a three-game series against the defending American Association champion Kansas City Monarchs tonight at Blue Cross Park. Right-hander Zac Reininger (4-3, 4.26 ERA) will start for the Fish (26-26) who are 6.5 games back of the West Division leading Sioux Falls Canaries and 5 games behind the second place Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. 

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American receiver Lucky Whitehead to their practice roster. Whitehead, who broke into the CFL with the Bombers in 2019, spent the last three seasons with the B.C. Lions. Since his arrival to the CFL in 2019, Whitehead has recorded 248 receptions for 3,192 yards, 15 rushes for 118 yards, and 13 touchdowns in 58 games. The Blue Bombers have also released American defensive end Ali Fayad. Winnipeg is 1-4 and will host the Calgary Stampeders on Friday.

Isaias Odiatu scored twice as Niverville Force SC defeated Winnipeg FC 4-2. Brendan Thompson and Stefan Neufeld also scored for the Force who have five wins, three losses and two ties in the Manitoba Major Soccer League's 1st Division. Niverville's next game is Tuesday, July 16th in Winnipeg against Galacticos FC.

Canada will face Argentina tonight in the Copa America semifinals in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Both countries won their quarterfinal matches via penalties. Uruguay and Colombia play Wednesday in the other semifinal. The championship final is scheduled for Sunday.

NBA all-star forward Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley officially re-signed with the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors announced the signings at a press conference in Toronto this Monday morning. The contract details were not released but Barnes reportedly signed a rookie maximum extension worth nearly 225 million dollars (U-S) over five years, while Quickley reportedly agreed to a five-year 175 million dollar deal.

Golf Manitoba's Provincial Women's Amateur Championship wrapped up Sunday at the Minnedosa Golf & Country Club. 2024 champion Addison Kartusch of St. Charles will join Clayton Dreger of Off the Tee which airs Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m. on AM 1250 Radio.
