Police say there was a stabbing at Steinbach's Summer In The City over the weekend. And, the victim and suspect are the same two men involved in the stabbing earlier this month in Mitchell. Only this time the roles were reversed.

On Friday at 10:05 pm, Steinbach RCMP received a report of an unknown male in possession of a knife on Reimer Avenue and that there could be an injured person in the area.

Patrols were made but the suspect was not located. While on scene, officers were advised by EMS that they were transporting the victim, who suffered a minor physical injury, to the hospital.

Officers attended to the hospital and spoke with the 18-year-old male from Mitchell, who told police that he was involved in the altercation with the 23-year-old male, also from Mitchell, who had pulled the knife on him.

The 23-year-old male has not yet been located. Once arrested, he will face charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.

No further details are available.
