The second annual Kleefeld Pumpkin Carving Event will take place this Saturday, October 22nd, from 1-4PM at the Kleefeld picnic shelter.

Organizers Steve and Alicia Olyniuk live in Kleefeld and started the event last year out of their love for the community.

“The wonderful volunteers in that town put their time and effort in and they're just making it an amazing community. We love Kleefeld and we just we can't say enough about it.”

The two started up the event as they were looking for a good opportunity to give back to the community and get together.

"We feel so blessed that we get so much business from the community, and we just want to give back. We wanted to have an outdoor event and just gather.”

After they held the event last year, a few businesses reached out to them wanting to be a part of it moving forward.

Simply Grey Signature donated 25 reflective “Boo Bags” that glow in the dark to keep kids safe as they trick-or-treat this Halloween.

Steve says that Prairie Wild wanted to join as well, and so they started a pumpkin patch to provide pumpkins for the event.

"We've been out there all summer looking at them, nurturing them, talking to them, and they're ready to be all carved up.”

There will also be free photoshoots thanks to Jasmyn Doerksen photography. If you want to have a photoshoot with Dirksen, the organizers ask that you make sure to sign up for a time slot.

Steve and Alicia are looking forward to seeing all the pumpkins getting carved this year. Last year they were very impressed with the creativity of both the children and the adults.

“Last year it was just so wonderful to have the kids come out, and you could see they were so excited. The imaginations of kids are just wonderful.”

To RSVP, contact the organizers Steve and Alicia Olyniuk at admin@teamolyniuk.com or text 204 392 4262.

There will be spoons, sharpies, and knives provided, as well as coffee and hot chocolate to help you stay warm.
