Five extra classrooms are being utilized at Niverville Elementary School.

Superintendent Randy Dueck says the additional classrooms were approved by the province about a year-and-a-half ago as part of the 20 K-3 Initiative.

Each door in the addition is painted a different colour to represent the school colours. (Photo credit: NES)NES Principal Judy Hiebert says due to the classroom additions they have been able to add a fifth Grade 2 class as well as a fourth Grade 4 class to help with the high classroom numbers. Hiebert adds, with the additional space, they were able to free up space in the music room and the library once again.

"It's fantastic. We are very grateful to have this space. We're comfortable in it now and it's a part of our school. We're a growing community and the government chose to have this addition, which suits our school very well."

Hiebert notes people's faces light up when they see the new space. She adds it is well done with each door having been painted a different colour to match the school logo.
