South Eastman English and Literacy Services has concerns about getting some extra money.
The federal Conservatives are planning to cut funding to certain literacy organizations and instead give it to frontline programs like South Eastman English and Literacy Services.  Executive Director Delores Braun is pleased to be getting more money but doesn't want it coming out of another organization's pocket.  She adds groups like Literacy Partners of Manitoba may be forced to shut their doors because of this and then South Eastman would be without the valuable resources, bursaries and workshops they provide.  Braun says they'll just have to wait and see what happens however she is encouraging us to contact Provencher MP Vic Toews to voice our concerns and see if some of this funding can be brought back.
