With spring break underway, the Pat Porter Active Living Centre in Steinbach is prepared for more kids to participate in their activities.

Executive Director Audrey Harder says they have a lot of fun programming and affordable rates for the whole family to get active and have fun.

“On Sunday, we have our Rockin’ Rollers roller skating, it’s from 2 until 4pm, $2.00 for members and $4 for non-members. Anyone under 16 is required to be accompanied by an adult. Come on in and roller skate. We don't have skates; we don't have the equipment. You'll have to bring your own. But what a great way to spend an afternoon on a Sunday.”

Harder is hoping to see a lot of kids participating in some of the programs, like line dancing, yoga and floor curling.

She notes the cost for most activities is four dollars or less, making it affordable for families to get active.

Harder says they do have some programs that are geared specifically toward youngsters, like the kids pickleball on Monday afternoons.

“They learn how to play and there are some that come every week. But that week especially there might be more time for people, so they can come, it’s just after 4pm. Pop in, it’s just $1 per child. We do require that parents stick around. And if parents want to jump in and help out and play, so be it. It’s all about having fun.”

There’s also Fun Bingo on Wednesday and a pancake breakfast on Thursday morning with some of the Steinbach Pistons.
