High School is officially over for the 402 graduating students of the SRSS.

James Gibson has been the Vice Principal of the class for the past year and shares some thoughts on this specific class.

"It's a really dynamic group and when an opportunity is presented to them they go full force into it," stresses Gibson. "Whether its musicals, vocations, or academics, when this group commits to doing something they commit."

Valedictorian Kelsey MartensWhile Valedictorian Kelsey Martens hesitates to paint her eclectic class with a single brush stroke, she agrees with Gibson and says her fellow grads are good walking through open doors.

"Relaxing and saying yes to something that is scary ends up being a blast," offers Martens, reflecting on her own experience. "Another big thing I've been thinking about lately is the importance of pausing and taking in the moment."

Martens will be sharing these thoughts and more during the grad ceremonies. The convocation will begin at 3:00 PM today at the Convention Centre in Winnipeg with a banquet to follow.

Though this is not quite the biggest class the school has ever graduated, Gibson says the banquet will have the largest attendance the SRSS has ever seen with over 300 more guests than last year's.

Gibson says it is always bittersweet watching the grads leave and admits that he will miss them. However, at the same time, he is glad to see them go out and begin using their skills in the world.
