Winter weather has returned to southern Manitoba.

Snow overnight has caused the closure of Sunrise School Division.

In your Kal Tire Road Report, Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure is reporting the following road conditions as of 9 am:

  • Highway 12 from Steinbach to Highway 1 - partly ice-covered and slushy
  • Highway 12 from PR 205 to Steinbach - snow-covered and slushy with blowing/ drifting snow
  • Highway 1 from PR 207 to Ste. Anne - partly ice-covered and slushy
  • Highway 52 from Mitchell to La Broquerie - partly ice-covered and slushy
  • Highway 52 from Highway 59 to Mitchell - partly snow-covered and slushy
  • Highway 59 from St. Malo to Ile des Chenes - partly snow-covered and slushy
  • Highway 75 from Morris to Winnipeg - partly snow-covered and slushy

Light standard knocked down in Steinbach

A word of caution to motorists in Steinbach, as the light standard in the turning lane near Starbucks has been knocked down. 

Environment Canada is calling for periods of light snow today and a northwest wind at 20 km/h gusting to 40 km/h. The temperature will remain steady near zero.
