There was a collision around 9:00 this morning in Steinbach. Assistant Deputy Fire Fhief Cal Toews says it took place at the corner of Highway #12 and Loewen Boulevard. "It was a minor two-vehicle bump. Both vehicles are driveable. One driver was taken to hospital, complaining of neck pain, it was precautionary," said Toews.

Meanwhile, there was a single vehicle accident just after midnight this morning. Deputy Fire Chief Don Smith says it occurred on Highway #12, four miles north of Steinbach. He says a vehicle went out of control and hit the ditch, striking a hydro pole. Smith adds, "One of the persons was trapped inside. We had to use the Jaws of Life to extract the person. Ambulance then transported the person to hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries."

Both Smith and Toews say roads are very slippery and urge motorists to proceed with caution.
