Construction continues this week along Provincial Road 216 south of Kleefeld.

According to a provincial spokesperson, Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure began a culvert replacement project last week Monday. The site is about one mile south of Kleefeld.

The province says work at this location involves replacing an existing steel culvert at the end of its life, with two new steel culverts. One of the culverts has already been installed, while the second one is expected to be installed this week. Full installation is expected to be completed by early December.

A provincial spokesperson says there will be a gravel surface along PR 216 in this area for this upcoming winter. The pavement surface will then be restored next spring.

The province says detours are not required for this construction project. Instead, construction signage is in place and the traffic is being controlled by flag persons.
