Please know that each of you matter to us and we will help to overcome the negativity you experienced. We have the divisional care team in place for those that need additional support.

Tomorrow we return to school in Pandemic Response Level Yellow. This means there will be some noticeable changes. Most notably, the use of masks in PE will be optional, vaccination passports or mandatory testing will not be required for participation in sports, the directional arrows in hallways will be removed, and there will be increased seating in common areas.

Masks are still required in classrooms and hallways until March 15th. This is not negotiable. If your student is unable to comply with this requirement, please contact the school to discuss this with your grade level vice principal. We cannot continue to have negative interactions and conflict over this issue. We must return to our focus of curricular instruction and fostering positive relationships.

Also, following the announcements of upcoming public health changes, we have much work to do in the planning of significant events - primarily Graduation 2022 and Grade 8 Orientation. We are excited to see the return of these celebrations but we are working under extreme time pressure. Please allow us the time and energy to make these plans with optimism and positivity. More information on both of these events will be communicated as soon as possible.

Following the release of additional public health mandates on March 15th, we welcome all staff and students to attend with or without the use of masks. This will be a personal choice and we will require respectful interactions in support of each individual’s choice.

The Semester 1 Final Report cards have been delayed one week but should be distributed on Thursday.

We are looking forward to the return of students tomorrow. We need to refocus our energy into the teaching and learning process. We will be approaching this new semester with optimism, tolerance, and kindness regardless of political or personal opinions.

We encourage you to wear your Sabres gear or jerseys as a reminder that we are strong and proud of our school and community.

Welcome back Sabres!

See you tomorrow.
