Big red Adirondack chairs are popping up in communities across the country and now there is one in the Town of Ste. Anne.

It sits at the Pioneer Pocket Park and Town Councillor Jason Einarson says that it is a great location because it encourages tourists to learn about Ste. Anne's history.

Einarson says these big red chairs are about more than great photo opportunities, they are about attracting people into communities, and connecting communities across the country.

“I think the big red chair is great to have in our town as it is something that connects us to other towns and municipalities,” he says. “It provides an opportunity for residents and tourists to stop for a few minutes, take a picture, learn a bit about our town and feel connected.”

Einarson says similar big red chairs are located across Canada within the Parks Canada System so people can have a collage of “big red chair” pictures from all over the country.

“I think this is a great start to the town and the CDC (Community Development Corporation) working to increase tourism and commercial development for our community.”
