The Ste. Anne Aces will meet the Warren Mercs in the SEMHL final. Dexter Kuczek had three goals and two assists as the Mercs defeated the Morden Bombers 7-3 in the fifth and deciding game of their semifinal Tuesday night in Warren. Carson Ouellette, Riley Vautour, Darren Bestland and Johnny Lazo also scored for the Mercs who rallied from an 0-2 series deficit. Jay Fehr, Tyler Peers and Logan Christensen replied for the Bombers. The defending champion Aces swept the Winkler Royals in three straight in their semifinal. 


The St. Malo Warriors are one win away from advancing to the Capital Region Junior Hockey League final. Keston Worley scored twice as St. Malo downed the Lundar Falcons 4-2. Brady Gregoire and Kaden Rioux also scored for the Warriors who lead the best-of-seven semifinal three games to none. Game four goes Friday in Lundar. Jarvis Ewasko potted the go-ahead goal on the power play with 4:33 remaining in the third period as Beausejour shaded the defending champion Selkirk Fishermen 3-2. Carter Reid and Tanner Amos also scored for the Comets who lead that series two games to one. Game four is set for Thursday at the SunGro Centre. 


The Eastman Selects season is on the line tonight in Niverville. The Selects face the Westman Wildcats in game four of their best-of-five Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League semifinal. The Wildcats shutdown the Selects 4-0 this past Sunday in Hartney and lead the series two games to one. 


The Brandon Wheat Kings wrapped up their five-game road trip with a 4-0 loss to Saskatoon. Egor Sidorov had three goals and an assist for the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference leading Blades.


Briane Harris was ineligible to compete in the national women's championship because she had tested positive for a banned substance. The Winnipeg native was declared ineligible to compete in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Calgary hours before her team skipped by Kerri Einarson played its opening game on February 16. Einarson's rink confirmed on social media Tuesday morning that Harris tested positive for a banned substance.


The 2023 Grey Cup provided economic gain for both the city of Hamilton and province of Ontario. According to a study by Sport Tourism Canada, the game and Grey Cup festival generated a net economic impact of 41.9 million dollars, including 35.4 million for Ontario and 29.2 million for Hamilton, which staged the game. The Montreal Alouettes defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 28-24 at Tim Hortons Field.
