A search party is being organized to locate a man reported missing in Steinbach

Allison Zaporozan says they hope to find 29-year-old Ryan Cody Maynard, who was last seen on November 20th along Cedar Crescent in Steinbach.

Anyone who can join the search is asked to meet at Calvary Church at 305 Main Street in Steinbach at 11am on Friday, December 2nd. She encourages volunteers in the search party to wear high visibility vests or jackets, if possible.

“I would assign everybody the groups, to go door-to-door and check the culverts, check fields, and I'll give them posters to ask people if they've seen him,” Zaporozan says. “We want to search for him, we want to find him. We want to make sure he's safe.”

Zaporozan says Ryan has a history of homelessness, which is why they are searching in places where he might have gone to seek shelter.

“Like the culverts and the ditches, the fields, the bathrooms, maybe some abandoned houses, and if people can check their sheds and their security cameras, that would be greatly appreciated,” she says.

His family has alerted Steinbach RCMP about their concerns and Zaporozan says posters have been put up in the community with hopes that someone has seen him.

“I just want to thank everybody who has put time and effort into trying to find him, looking in places,” she says.

Zaporozan also has a message for Ryan, in case he is reading this.

“Please, please reach out to one of your family members. We are truly devastated and truly missing you.”

A family member heard from Ryan on November 20th and there has not been any contact since then. Steinbach RCMP and Ryan’s family are concerned for his safety.

Ryan Cody Maynard is described as 5'11" tall, weighing 165 pounds with brown hair and hazel coloured eyes. No clothing description has been provided.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Steinbach RCMP or Crime Stoppers
