The Steinbach Pistons are kicking into high gear, even though ice hockey might be the last thing on anyone’s mind during this intense heat.

“As much as we all want to enjoy the summer that we're getting right now, the Pistons, we’re always thinking hockey,” says marketing director Jamie Roy. “So, the next thing is our Kids Power Camp.”

The camp is geared toward kids between 7 to 12 years old.

“It's a week-long, 8am-5pm kind of camp for kids,” he explains. “You get two ice sessions a day, there's some dryland training, some indoor classroom instruction. It's a lot of fun.”

There are still a few spots that are open.

“Especially in our Novice and Atom group,” Roy notes. “So, that would be U11 and U9, we only have maybe one or two left in the Peewee age group, and we still need a couple of goalies as well."

The camp is from August 29th to September 2nd.

Roy says there will be a lot of returning Pistons at the Power Camp, helping the young players.

The Steinbach Pistons 2022/2023 season is scheduled to begin on September 16th with a home and home series with the new Niverville Nighthawks. The first game will take place in Steinbach.
