The Steinbach Pistons gave the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Sher-Wood Division leading Dauphin Kings all they could handle on Saturday night at Credit Union Place. It looked like the Pistons and Kings would be heading into overtime when Steinbach forward Trent Genyk scored with 1:56 left in the third period but Dauphin's Neil Tarnasky beat Pistons goaltender Zach Rakochy just 30 seconds later and the Kings held on for a 5-4 victory over Steinbach. Mark Owen added a pair of goals for the Pistons while Taylor Friesen had the other Steinbach goal. The Kings led 2-1 after the first period and were two seconds away from trailing 3-2 after forty minutes when Kyle Smart scored for Dauphin. The Pistons will have the next five days off before playing three games next weekend.
