Park Road West has been partially reopened and residents of Steinbach are being invited explore the new Langill Farm Development behind the Clearspring Centre.

The first leg of construction on Park Road West is now complete and the newly constructed four-lane road was reopened Wednesday morning from Penner Building Centre on the east, all the way to the Langill Way intersection at the new Penn-Co building.

That section of road has been closed since September of last year

The developer of Langill Farm, Agassiz Shore Developments, sent out a notice on Wednesday inviting the community to drop in.

“We encourage and invite anyone interested in having a look at the Langill Farm development to take few minutes and drive through.”

Construction is already underway on a number of new homes in the development. According to the notice, the first phase is ready and they are currently working on the second phase which is set to be completed this fall.

Not only have roads been put in, but Agassiz Shore Developments says “We encourage everyone to walk, bike, and run throughout the community. Enjoy the walking paths around the naturalized pond and imagine the extensive walking paths, tennis court, play structure, dog park that will be coming with the completion of phase 2.”

With the first section of Park Road West complete, road construction crews will now begin working on the second phase which will see Park Road twinned and paved to just west of Industrial Road.

Earlier this month, City of Steinbach Engineer Aaron Rach noted the whole project should be complete by the end of this year’s construction season.
