The Fall Food Drive in support of the Niverville Helping Hands took place yesterday and they received a large amount of food.

Larissa Sandulak, Director of Helping Hands, says it’s amazing to see how much food has been donated by the community.

“We're blown away. We appreciate it so much. Just seeing familiar faces and new faces, and just the way our community always supports us, it means a lot to us to have their trust and support.”

They also received a lot of donations, and Sandulak says they are going to help a lot.

“They're going to help us by saving the amount of food that we need to purchase and also just add variety. You guys are so creative in the things that you guys bring and I know that our clients appreciate that too instead of just having always the same things.”

She is grateful for all the local businesses and leaders that jumped on board to help out the food bank.

“It's amazing. We literally could not do anything without them. They make our job a lot easier.”

As the weather is getting colder and the holidays are getting closer, Sandulak is a little nervous heading into the Christmas season.

“It's gonna be busy, but we're excited. We're going to be getting that up and running on our website soon, and we've already had a few people asking us how they can sponsor families and how they can help us.”

She says 2024 could be a really exciting year for Niverville Helping Hands, and she hopes to see lots of growth in the near future.

“We have some big dreams for Niverville Helping Hands in the New Year, we hope to establish some more services like maybe some shuttle services to appointments that are out of town, helping with taxes, meal planning, that kind of thing.”
