The provincial government made an announcement Friday morning that looks at plans for new schools, including one for Ste. Anne.

This is something the Seine River School Division has been looking forward to for a number of years.

In December of 2021, the province approved a land purchase in the Town of Ste. Anne which would be the location for the new school.

At that time, school board chairperson Wendy Bloomfield stated that they were hoping the province would approve a vocational school.

And Friday morning, Education and Early Childhood Learning Minister Wayne Ewasko announced a few new schools, including A Grade 9 to 12 vocational school and child-care centre for the Seine River School Division.
