The RM of Hanover has never held a liquor referendum.

But, that will all change later this month.  On October 25th, residents will vote on more than just a new council.
They will be asked whether or not they approve of the sale of liquor in the municipality.  Council has already given second reading to the bylaw.  Chief Administrative Officer Doug Cavers says if fewer than 50 per cent of the votes are in favour, council will not proceed with final reading.  Cavers says very few people have talked to him about the referendum which makes him question how many people even know it's happening.
