Planning is underway for the annual Co-ed Slo-Pitch Tournament in Landmark, raising money for the community’s outdoor rink project.

Matt Hiebert says the weekend tournament is a fun time for everyone.

“There was a slo-pitch tournament in Lanmark for years, it was run by a skating club. As volunteers moved on, it went away. There was just a void there,

Hiebert says slow-pitch is starting to get more popular and for good reason.

“I never played baseball growing up. I consider myself an ‘adult-onset slo-pitch player.’ It’s a great time, it’s a great sport. It’s casual and competitive and I love it in a tournament atmosphere.”

Landmarks Co-ed Slo-Pitch tournament will take place July 26, 27, and 28, which is the same weekend as the Landmark Friendship Festival at the arena.

Hiebert says they’re still accepting teams.

“We would love to host 16 teams.”
