All four Eastman Wildcats AAA teams took to the diamond this past weekend in the Manitoba Premier Softball League.


The U13 AAA Wildcats recorded two wins and two losses on the weekend. Eastman fell 1-0 to the Manitoba Angels and 2-1 to Central Energy Saturday in Winkler. Avi Tindall had a hit and two stolen bases in game one. The Wildcats had a bounce back Sunday in Friedensfeld. Eastman swept a doubleheader from Central Energy. The Wildcats plated six runs in the fourth inning and won the opener 9-2. Caleigh Giesbrecht stole four bases in the win. Eastman took the second game 10-3 as Kylie Plett, Abby Mateychuk and Caleigh Giesbrecht each drove in two runs. The Wildcats are 9-4 and face the Interlake Phillies Saturday in Stonewall.

 

The U15 AAA Wildcats played error free ball Sunday in Morden and swept a tripleheader from Central Energy. Eastman won the opener 4-3 as Émilie Carrière and Evelyn Calder each drove in a run in the bottom of the first. Kaitlyn Bonkowski went the distance allowing four hits and one run over seven innings as the Wildcats took game two 3-1. Leadoff hitter Sophie Remillard went three-for-four at the plate as Eastman completed the sweep with a 7-2 victory in game three. The Wildcats defeated the Manitoba Angels 9-2 on Saturday. Starting pitcher Cameron Heppner surrendered five hits and two runs over six innings and struck out four. The first place Wildcats have an 11-1-1 record and will meet Smitty's Terminators and Westman Magic Saturday in Winnipeg.

The U17 AAA Wildcats played doubleheaders against Central Energy and Smitty's Terminators this past weekend. Eastman and Central split their doubleheader on Saturday in Friedensfeld. Kara Buhler doubled home the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the seventh inning as Energy won the opener 2-1. Pascale Kihn drove in the lone run for the Wildcats. Eastman plated five runs in the fourth inning and took game two 9-2. Chloé Carrière had three rbi for the Wildcats. Eastman swept a twinbill from Smitty's on Sunday in Winnipeg. Chloé Carrière went four-for-four and Abby Dixon collected three hits in Eastman's 7-4 victory in game one. Annabelle Tétrault allowed just four hits and zero runs over four innings as the Wildcats won game two 10-0. Eastman has a 10-4 record and will play a pair of games against the Manitoba Thunder this Saturday at Optimist Park.


The U19 Wildcats played four games at Quarry Park in Stonewall this past weekend. The Manitoba Phillies beat Eastman 8-3 & 2-0 on Saturday and 7-3 & 6-3 on Sunday. Wildcats pitcher Mackenzie Bergen pitched 12 innings over the weekend and allowed two earned runs and struck out 11 Phillies. Jalen Modler went four-for nine at the plate; Allegra Penner was four-for-11; Katie Walker was four-for-12 and Leah Wherry went three-for-five. Eastman is 1-10 and will play a pair of games against the first place Smitty’s Terminators Tuesday, July 2nd in Friedensfeld.
