Free concerts are back with a new lineup of artists to perform in June at K.R. Barkman Concerts in the Park.

David Klassen, Executive Director of Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre, says this is a great way to enjoy local talent in a beautiful setting.

“We get to showcase these local bands, some of them perform more than others,” he says. “Really it doesn’t matter; we make sure the quality is high and that it’s a good experience for the community.”

Klassen says this is a safe place to gather and to enjoy music.

“K.R. Barkman Park with the gazebo is an amazing place to gather,” he adds. “All the pieces spell success.”

Concerts will take place during the first half of June. In the event any performance needs to be rescheduled due to weather, rain dates have been selected for later this month.

June 1 – LMNK and Crossfire

June 8 – Scott Jodoin & Band and Lights & Kites

June 13 – The Chammartin Family and P-Noise

June 15 – Acorns & Armchairs and Darryl Marsch Band

Rain dates – June 20 or June 22

Klassen notes the concerts are designed for the whole family, featuring local performers in indie rock, pop, folk, blues, classic rock, and more.

Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to the outdoor concerts. To find KR Barkman Park, head southeast down Main Street, just past the Steinbach Fire Hall, and look for the gazebo.
