The Fairway Ford I Love to Read tour is having quite an impact on students in the Southeast.

Marge Thiessen, Principal at Southwood School in Steinbach, says students look forward to hearing Corny Rempel read a few stories during their assembly that kicks off I Love to Read month every February.

“They respond so well to all his "voices", laughing, cheering and sitting quietly in suspense. His choice of books keeps the students interested year after year.”

The stories Corny brought to life this year were “The Book With No Pictures” by B.J. Novak and “The Very Cranky Bear” by Nick Bland.

At each school visit, the Mix Morning Show host also finds ways to connect with the students, sharing the challenges he faced when learning to read.

Each of the 24 schools in the reading tour also receives a gift of $100 from Fairway Ford to get new books.

“The gift for our library is lovely and used to buy books that students request or new books that come to our attention each year,” Thiessen says.

On Monday, March 4th, the I Love to Read tour wraps up with visits to Woodlawn School and Crystal Springs School.
