The second annual Stone City Fall Bash run by Stonehouse Covenant Church is happening this weekend.

It’s a free community event with carnival games, prizes, bouncy castles, food vendors, and live music by local bands.

Shannon Johnson Friesen, a leader at Stonehouse Covenant Church, says their aim is to provide a fun, community-building event for Steinbach and area.

“We want to give a good gift and we want it to be open to our whole community. It's just an opportunity to get together and have a good time as a community, maybe one last shout-out to summer.”

From 4pm till 6pm they will have carnival games and bouncy castles, as well as a raffle for kids.

They’ll have live music from 6pm to 9pm, and food vendors will be selling food and drinks throughout the evening.

Johnson Friesen says they have three different musicians that are coming.

“The Academy, which is a local band. Then we have Matt Epp coming in from Toronto, and this is actually his hometown,” she says. “And then to close out the evening at 8pm we have Crossfire.”

As for food trucks, they will have Dexters Mini Doughnuts once again, and a new food truck called Dukes Burger Company.

“It's gonna be a party, we're gonna have a great time. The weather's looking like it's going to be wonderful. We're just excited to host this again for our community.”

Stone City Fall Bash is on Saturday, September 9th from 4pm to 9pm at A.D. Penner Park.
