Funnel clouds spotted in the southeast Thursday afternoon

Funnel clouds were spotted in Kleefeld earlier today.

Tornado warnings were issued by Environment Canada this afternoon at 3:38 PM for Steinbach and area.

Steinbach was also hit with a mid-day thunderstorm on Thursday.

The rain temporarily flooded some streets. There was also a power outage felt in parts of the city.

Parts of the southeast, including Steinbach are now under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Environment Canada says the main threats associated with these storms will be large hail and strong, damaging wind gusts.

Environment Canada says the threat for severe weather is expected to quickly diminish early this evening.
