This weekend, learn history and catch some baseball action in our southeast communities.

The Gardenton Ukrainian Multicultural Festival is on Saturday, July 15, and it kicks off with a church service at 10:30 AM and a tour of St. Michael’s Church tour at 11 AM.

President Kelvin Chubaty says this has been an annual festival since 1965, and “anybody is welcome to the event.”

“We have the museum with all artifacts and stuff from the local pioneers, and they wanted to have a festival every year to celebrate that. So that's why this is still continuing,” Chubaty says.

Starting at 1 PM, there will be 22 group performers taking the stage, including African, Ukrainian, and Irish dancing groups and more! There will also be a canteen, beer garden, and kids’ activities.

They wrap up the festival at 7 PM with an evening dance and perogies supper featuring Wild Ridge.

The admission fees are $15 for adults, and kids 12 and under are free. There will be kids’ activities available for $5.

He adds he is excited for “everybody to come out and have a good time.”

We will be there from noon to 3 PM with Wendy’s Show Us Your Summer and Taylor or Trailer.

Many ball tournaments are happening this weekend, and we will be there for the U13 AAA Girls Softball Championship Weekend at the Friedensfeld Softball Diamonds.

The first game kicked off provincials' action at noon and continues today until Sunday, July 16. Find us on Sunday from 11 AM to 1 PM with Wendy’s Show Us Your Summer and Taylor or Trailer!

Want to win big this summer with Wendy’s Show Us Your Summer?

This week, show us you and your Frosty or you and your favourite treat from Wendy’s for a chance to win a $200 Wendy’s gift card and a Yeti mug.

Don’t forget about Taylor or Trailer! When you win a golden ticket, you have a decision to make. Will you keep the golden ticket or trade it in for Taylor Swift ticket draws?

If you keep the golden ticket, you are invited to the grand finale draw at the end of August for the brand-new trailer from Steinbach Trailers and RV. If you trade it in for Taylor Swift tickets, you will be entered to win a trip for two to Los Angeles to see Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour in August. This prize includes flights and accommodations.
