Fun event kicks off fundraising month for Jumpstart

Fundraising is in full swing this month at Canadian Tire in Steinbach where they are collecting donations for the Jumpstart program. 

Money raised in Steinbach will help local kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities.

Hot dogs, chips and drinks were sold at the kick-off event for Jumpstart fundraising at Canadian Tire in Steinbach.

Fundraising kicked off on June 1st with a fun event that included a bouncy slide for the kids, hot dogs and a fun tour of a fire truck.  

Randi Schroeder says the Jumpstart program has expanded. 

“It used to be just sports but now we've welcomed the play, so we have gymnastics and dance, it's not just hockey or baseball or soccer, it's all the sports and arts.”

Randi Schroeder encourages people to make a donation to Jumpstart by visiting the Canadian Tire store in Steinbach.

She notes all the money raised in Steinbach will stay in Steinbach.

Schroeder says the store is accepting donations throughout the month of June.
