Kleefeld Recreation Association held their 2nd annual Car Show on June 1 and had a great turn out.

Free coffee was offered to all drivers and the canteen served a BBQ lunch, snacks, and drinks.

Riley Friesen, a member of Kleefeld Rec Association explains why they are hosting their car show for the second year.

“We’re putting on a car show today for the community,” he says. “We are redoing the boards in the rink and it’s a fundraiser for that. Also just to get people out, show some nice cars, and have some fun.”

Friesen discusses differences between last year and this year’s car show.

“Last year was all last minute. We had about 60 cars show up and nothing really planned as far as events go,” he explains. “This year we have eight different awards that we’re handing out. It’s good fun for the whole family.”

Wendy’s Show Us Your Summer Contest is happening again this summer, and you have a chance to win awesome prizes.

They had a best-in-sound contest where the cars revved their engines and had the chance to win an award.

Friesen mentions that he is a car guy himself and brought a truck to the event.

“It’s a 1950 international and is pieced together with two different frames. We built it last year from the ground up. It’s all brand new, looks old, bit brand new underneath.”
