The Manitoba Day Celebration will be at the Mennonite Heritage Village (MHV) on Saturday, May 11, and we will be joining in on the festivities.
The MHV doors will be open from 9 am to 5 pm with lots of activities throughout the day, and the event is free admission.
Here is what to expect:
10 am – Steinbach and Area Garden Club Planting a Pansy for Mom
11 am – Flag Raising Ceremony: Music and Greetings in the Pavilion
11:30 am – Free Birthday Cake
11:30 am – Horse-drawn Wagon Rides and Barrel Train Rides
12 pm - Eastman Immigrant Services: Outdoor Family Fun and Fair Games
1:45 pm – 5 pm – Magician, Live Music, and Balloon Artist
Their newest exhibit “Mennonite Village Photography” will also be open. It features the work of four Mennonite photographers and the restored photos provide a glimpse of Mennonite life and early settlement in Manitoba.

Saturday, May 11 – Friedensfeld Park Clean-up
Two rain dates later, Friedensfeld Park Clean-up will take place this Saturday, May 11th, rain or shine! Volunteers are welcome to come to help beautify the community, beginning at 10 am. Tractors and rakes are encouraged, the more the better.
Saturday, May 11 – Community Garage Sales
If you are in Steinbach this weekend, check out the many garage sales in the community because one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Visit the Garage Sale Junkie website to see a map of participating houses and locations.
Sunday, May 12 – Mother's Day Buffet at MHV
Mennonite Heritage Village is once again hosting a Mother’s Day Buffet at the Livery Barn Restaurant. Stop by and enjoy a delicious Mennonite feast with Mom, available from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.
