One person was rushed to hospital following a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning west of Steinbach.

Hanover Fire Chief Paul Wiebe says they were called out at 7:01 am to the collision along Highway 52, just east of Road 32E. That is between Steinbach and Mitchell.

Wiebe says the crash happened in the westbound lanes. He notes a pickup truck, and two cars were headed in the same direction and says that it sounds as though one of the drivers may have been trying to avoid a deer.

"We had one person injured and transported," says Wiebe. "The other two occupants of the other vehicles were not transported."

Wiebe says the scene was cleared at around 8:30 am.

RCMP are investigating.
