A spokesperson for Clearview Co-op says Tuesday was a great day for their annual fundraiser.

Operations Manager Geoff Dilts explains that all co-ops across western Canada hold Fuel Good Day on the third Tuesday in September. On that day, five cents per litre of fuel sold goes back to a local charity. Dilts says this year, Clearview Co-op chose ROC Eastman as its charity to support for Fuel Good Day.

"Tuesday was a great day," says Dilts. "We had beautiful weather, we had lots of customers come by and fill up for Fuel Good Day which is a great thing."

Dilts says in addition to the five cents per litre in fuel sales, Clearview Co-op also gave one dollar from the sale of every coffee and Big Cool slushy on Tuesday to ROC Eastman. They also held a charity barbeque. He notes they are still tallying their total sales but can safely say that Tuesday raised more than $11,000 for ROC Eastman.

Dilts says one of their principles as a co-op is to give back to the community.

"The things that ROC Eastman does for kids and letting them find activities and recreation, that just fits perfectly with us," he says. "So, we're happy to partner with them and provide this $11,000 this year."

According to Dilts, this was one of the highest fundraising totals that Clearview Co-op has had for a Fuel Good Day. Last year they took in just over $10,000.
