The hours of operation are changing at the temporary walk-in clinic at Morris General Hospital.

Starting Sunday, October 1st, the clinic will only be open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 4pm and 7pm. Note, the walk-in will be closed on Oct. 2 & 9.

Appointments remain limited to a first come, first serve basis starting at 4:00 pm during walk-in clinic hours only, and no advance bookings are being taken. Once appointments are filled the clinic will be required to close intake for the day.

The same-day clinic will continue to offer limited appointments Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (excluding statutory holidays) to address non-life-threatening health concerns.

Outpatient services such as lab work, minor procedures including iv treatments and wound care currently provided through the emergency department will continue to be scheduled as required.

The Morris General Hospital Emergency Department remains closed until further notice.

In a news release, Southern Health-Sante Sud stated the fastest way to get help for a medical emergency is to dial 911. Access to primary care services will continue but will be challenged in light of the medical staff shortages being experiences. Patients are encouraged to continue accessing primary health care wherever possible. All general, less serious health care needs can be addressed by calling Health Links–Info Santé at 1-888-315-9257.

The health authority noted, these changes will not affect hospital in-patient services or resident care in the personal care homes.
