The Manitoba Junior Baseball League leading Carillon Sultans have lost back-to-back games for the first time this season. The Interlake Blue Jays defeated Carillon 9-5 and 13-5 Sunday at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach. The first place Sultans have a 14-4 record and will meet the St. James A's on Thursday. The Elmwood Giants are in second place at 12-5. The A's are next with an 11-5 record while the Blue Jays are 10-5. 


The Winnipeg Goldeyes five-game losing skid came to an end Sunday afternoon at Blue Cross Park. Jake McMurray homered for the Fish. Winnipeg starter Landen Bourassa allowed two runs on six hits over six inning and struck out seven. Fellow Canadians Ben Onyshko and Nick Trogrlic-Iverson combined to keep the RedHawks off the board for the remainder of the game.The Goldeyes have the day off and will open a three-game series against the Dogs in Chicago on Tuesday. 


Niverville Force SC will meet Kucame FC tonight (7:30 pm.) at the Niverville Soccer Complex. Force SC is coming off a 5-4 loss to the Winkler Storm last Monday and have three wins, three losses and one tie in the Manitoba Major Soccer League's 1st Division. 


The National Hockey League's 2023-24 season will come to an end tonight in Sunrise, Florida as the Panthers meet the Edmonton Oilers in the seventh and deciding game of the Stanley Cup final. Florida won the first three games of the series. Edmonton staved off elimination by winning the next three. The 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs are the only team in NHL history to rally from an 0-3 series deficit and win the Stanley Cup.

The South East Prairie Thunder, who won the 2012 Allan Cup in Lloydminster, will be inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame this October. Former Prairie Thunder player and executive member Jared Driedger will join Clayton Dreger on Sportsbeat which airs Mondays at 5:15 p.m. on AM 1250 Radio.
