One person is dead, and another is clinging to life following a three-vehicle collision west of Lac du Bonnet.

On Friday at approximately 10:20 pm, Lac du Bonnet RCMP responded to the collision on Highway 11, near Bilan Road.

Police say a pickup truck, driven by a 32-year-old man from the Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet, was travelling south on Highway 11, when his vehicle crossed over the centre line and collided with a northbound SUV, driven by a 34-year-old woman from Utterson, Ontario. Her vehicle then entered the east side ditch and rolled.

A second pickup truck, driven by a 60-year-old man from Winnipeg, was travelling behind the SUV and swerved to avoid colliding with the pickup. This second pickup truck entered the ditch and collided with the SUV.

Police say the 34-year-old woman in the SUV was pronounced dead on scene.

The 32-year-old driver of the first pickup truck was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police note the 60-year-old driver of the second pickup suffered minor physical injuries.

Lac du Bonnet RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
