A Steinbach business is encouraging the public to watch for any suspicious activity, following a break-in earlier this week.

RCMP received a report that sometime Wednesday night, someone gained access to the storage trailer at MJ’s Kafé, “and took off with approximately $400 worth of food,” police say.

On the restaurant's Facebook page, a post was written to encourage people to ask for help instead of causing damage to property and stealing food.

Written on Thursday, December 1, 2022:

“We could use your help! Our storage trailer was broken into last night and some food items were stolen. We do support organizations that help those in need and will continue to do so. If someone is in need we will continue to help but please don't break in. Steps have been taken to increase security but If you happen to be driving close to MJ's between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. we welcome you to swing through the parking lot to check if all is okay.” - MJ’s Kafé

Steinbach RCMP reports they have no leads at this time.
