Residents living along Blumenhoff Road, east of Blumenort can breathe a sigh of relief.

Hanover council has turned down an application from an area farmer looking to transform his sow farrow barn into a turnaround.  Boyd Penner had hoped to use the building east of Blumenort to bring in culled sows and boars and then turn around and sell them to areas where there is a market.  Reeve John Driedger says council is concerned with the additional truck traffic the business would create and has fears related to biosecurity.  So, the request was denied for a second time.
