Voters in Provencher have a chance Wednesday night to learn more about their candidates. The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce is holding a federal election forum. Chamber President Tim Schmitt says Conservative Ted Falk, Liberal Trevor Kirczenow, Green Janine Gibson and the People's Party's Wayne Sturby have confirmed their attendance.

"It's basically a chance for voters to come out and hear what each of these candidates stands for and their stance on certain issues. The more education we have, the better voting we have. So, hopefully people come out and hear some of those answers and are better informed when they go to the voting stations."

Schmitt says the questions for the candidates have been developed after asking chamber members to submit their ideas.

"Certainly, because we are a business organization representing the businesses of Steinbach, then we want to make sure that we're spending a lot of time on questions relating to business. But I think there may be some questions that have to do with the general public as well."

The election forum takes place in the theatre at Steinbach Regional Secondary School at 6:30 p.m. For those who cannot attend, the event will be streamed live on steinbachonline.com
