Niverville Council is seeking a resolution for home-buyers owed money from the Fine Haus Building Co. bankruptcy.

builder going bankrupt, more than a few groups are looking to recoup their losses.

“Bankruptcy trustees do what they can to collect whatever is collectible and mitigate the debt that might have been incurred,” explains Mayor Myron Dyck, “so before those that have accounts receivable against that particular company get their money, it has to go through the legal process.”

Dyck says even though the issue is not a municipal concern, other municipalities have been attempting to help their residents. “We’re spending money, other taxpayer money, to help these taxpayers out this time,” says Dyck, “and then, we know in the future, they’ll come around and we’ll all help each other. That’s what we do.”
