The combination of mild temperatures and a breezy northwest wind has created some slick driving conditions in southern Manitoba.

Some of the roads, particularly those running east/west, have snow-packed sections with icy spots.

The province is reporting a mixture of road conditions in Steinbach and area as of 4 pm:

  • Highway 12 is partly ice covered from Steinbach to the U.S. border
  • Highway 52 has blowing and drifting snow from Highway 59 to Mitchell
  • Highway 75 is listed as partly snow covered from Morris to St. Adolphe

Meanwhile, Environment Canada is calling for periods of light snow to end this evening, though there is a risk of freezing drizzle early this evening. Fog patches are expected to develop overnight and winds of 20 km/h from the northwest are expected.
