The Steinbach Pistons added six new players to the organization during the MJHL's 2024 draft that took place on Sunday.

Pistons Head Scout David Anning gives some details on each player selected.

Luca Pura (1st; 13th) – F – Winnipeg Wild U18 – “We really like Luca’s hockey sense and size. He’s a big body who moves well; can control the game down low in the offensive zone and makes plays.”

Mathias Sibilleau (2nd; 26th) – F – Interlake Lightning U18 – “Mathias is a big, powerful forward who competes hard. He’s noticeable every time he’s on the ice and always has an impact on the game.”

Jett Deschamps (4th; 52nd) – LD – RHA U17 – “Jett is highly intelligent and makes the game look easy. He’s very smooth on his feet and with the puck. He’s a defenceman that can make a lot of plays and generate scoring chances.”

Colin Krestanowich (5th; 55th) – LD – Winnipeg Wild U17 – “Colin defends very well and makes it hard for his opponents to get the puck to the inside. He gets the puck moving in transition and gets involved offensively.”

Peyton Thiessen (6th; 78th) – F – Interlake Lightning U17 – “Peyton is always engaged in the game. He is very competitive and plays with an edge. He’s someone who does everything with authority.”

Hudson Kowalchuk (8th; 83rd / 104th) – LD – Winnipeg Wild U18 – “Hudson is a very skilled defenceman who will have options moving forward. He’s very talented and has excellent puck skills.”
