New Census data shows households in Steinbach are making less money than the provincial average.

According to 2021 Census data released Wednesday, the median after-tax income of Steinbach households in 2020 was $64,000. That is below the Manitoba average of $69,000 and the national average of $73,000.

The Rural Municipality of Hanover came in above the provincial average, at $76,500.

The two municipalities in the southeast with the highest median-after tax income of households were Ritchot and Tache, each at $91,000. The municipality in the southeast with the lowest total was Piney at $50,800.
