The 2021-22 Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League season came to an end for the Eastman Selects Monday afternoon in Shoal Lake. The Selects lost 4-1 to Yellowhead. The Chiefs swept the best-of-five quarterfinal in three straight games.

 

The Red River Mudbugs meet the Niverville Clippers in St. Jean tonight in the deciding fifth game of their Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League opening round series. The winner travels to Ile des Chenes Wednesday night to face the Lorette Comets in game one of their best-of-seven semifinal.

 

The Winnipeg Ice gave up four second period goals and lost 6-3 to the Oil Kings in Edmonton. Carson Lambos, Matthew Savoie and Skylar Bruce scored for the Ice. The East Division leading Ice trail the Central Division leading Oil Kings by eight points in the race for top spot in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference. Winnipeg does have seven games in hand on Edmonton.

 

The Winnipeg Jets opened their four game road trip with a 3-1 loss to Calgary. Elias Lindholm scored the go-ahead goal with 47 seconds remaining in the third period. Tyler Toffoli added an empty netter with 11 seconds left as the Flames extended their winning streak to 10 games. Dominic Toninato had the lone goal for the Jets who face the Stars in Dallas on Wednesday.

 

The Manitoba Moose dropped a 4-2 decision to the Milwaukee Admirals at Canada Life Centre. Jeff Malott and Leon Gawanke scored power play goals for the Moose. The game was tied at 1-1 after the first period and 2-2 after 40 minutes. Mitch McLain scored the go-ahead goal 3:16 into the third period for the Admirals and Winnipeg native Cody Glass chipped in with a pair of assists.
