The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will meet the B.C. Lions in the CFL's West Division final Sunday at IG Field and the Toronto Argonauts will host the Montreal Alouettes in the East final. Nathan Rourke threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns as the Lions defeated the Calgary Stampeders 30-16 in the West semifinal. Walter Fletcher and Dominique Davis scored rushing touchdowns as the Alouettes beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 28-17 in the East semifinal. 


The Beliveau Barracudas beat the Leo Remillard Renards 22-25, 25-22, 15-10 in the final of the Ste. Anne Lynx varsity girls volleyball tournament. The Westgate Wings swept the Pierre-Elliott Trudeau Canadiens 25-21, 25-14 in the final of the Edward Schreyer Barons junior varsity girls tournament in Beausejour. Gabrielle Roy lost to Linden Christian in the final of the Neelin Spartan Dig varsity boys volleyball tournament. The Wings beat Les Roy 25-19, 22-25, 15-10. 


Travis Hensrud scored twice, Warren Clark had three assists and Dominik Wasik made 39 saves as the Steinbach Pistons defeated the Portage Terriers 6-1 at Stride Place. Kirk Mullen, Leo Chambers, Nicholas Mikan and Hunter Degelman also scored for the Pistons who lead 2-0 and 3-1 at the period breaks. Steinbach and Portage are tied for top spot in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's East Division. Both teams have 30 points but the Pistons do have a game in hand on the Terriers. 


The Steinbach Huskies and Springfield Xtreme were winners in the Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League. Mason Martens scored the go-ahead goal 70 seconds into the third period and Eric Mateychuk added an insurance marker with 5:03 left in regulation as Steinbach defeated Macdonald 4-2 in Sanford. Brandon Thiessen and Troy Friesen also scored for the Huskies who improved to 6-0 on the season. Griffin Campbell and Talon Weselak replied for the Swarm. Braeden Rebeck had a hat trick as Springfield downed Landmark 7-2. Aidan Avanthay added a pair of goals for the Xtreme while the rest went to Evan Veinot and Ky Stewart. Xam Pilgrim and Brandon Slobozian did the goal scoring for the hometown Blues. 


Jeremie Collette had two goals and two assists in the St. Malo Warriors 7-1 win over the Beausejour Comets. Brady Gregoire, Radek Merasty, Ashton Dubois, Sam Frechette and Kaden Rioux also scored for the Warriors have 14 points and are tied with the the Lundar Falcons for third place in the Capital Region Junior Hockey League. Luke Tyslau had the lone goal for the Comets.


The Eastman Selects dropped a 5-1 decision to the defending Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League champion Winnipeg Wild at Bell MTS Iceplex. Ryder McLure had the lone goal for the Selects who have lost four in a row. Eastman netminder Francois Gagnon made 30 saves.


The Ste. Anne Aces scored four unanswered third period goals en route to a 5-3 victory over the defending SEMHL champion Mercs in Warren. Brendan Walker had a pair of goals for the Aces. The rest went to Caleb Paisley, William Cruise and Braden Purtill. Drake Lindsay scored twice for the Mercs and drew an assist Brenden Luschinski's second period goal. 


Alex Limoges scored his second goal of the game 3:15 into overtime as Manitoba edged the Texas Stars 2-1 at Canada Life Centre. Moose goaltender Oskari Salminen made 32 saves in recording the win. 


Brad Gushue defeated Byeongjin Jeong of South Korea 11-3 in the gold medal game at the Pan Continental Curling Championships in Calgary. Kerri Einarson beat Tabitha Peterson of the United States 7-5 in the bronze medal game. Satsuki Fujisawa of Japan outscored Seungyoun Ha of South Korea 8-6 in the gold medal game.
