The Steinbach Huskies are one win away from repeating as Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League champions. Ethan Unger had a four-point night with three goals and an assist as Steinbach downed Springfield 7-3 at the T.G. Smith Centre. Logan Funk, Keyan Grimard, Cole Topham and Ethan Plett also scored for the Huskies who lead the best-of-seven final three games to none. Mattix Carpenter, Braeden Rebeck and Kai Orchard replied for the Xtreme. Game four goes Friday night in Oakbank. 


First place in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's East Division belongs to the Steinbach Pistons. Connor Paronuzzi scored the go-ahead goal on the power play at 7:08 of the third period as the Pistons edged the Wolverines 2-1 in Waywayseecappo. James Fuchs potted his 20th of the season in the second period for the defending champions who received a 29-save performance from Cole Plowman. Steinbach also clinched the best record in the MJHL.

    
Jozsé Gauthier-Urmos made 25 saves in the St. Malo Warriors 3-1 victory over the Lundar Falcons in game two of their best-of-seven Capital Region Junior Hockey League semifinal. Ashton Dubois, Rylan Keck and Keston Worley did the goal scoring for the Warriors who lead the series two games to none.


The Eastman Selects were shutout 4-0 by the Westman Wildcats Sunday in Hartney. The Wildcats lead that best-of-five Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League semifinal two games to one. Eastman netminder Addison Tomes faced 32 shots. Game four goes Wednesday in Niverville.


The Warren Mercs and Morden Bombers are going the distance in their SEMHL semifinal. Erik Swanson scored the only goal of the game at 8:18 of the third period and Mitch Adamyk made 33 saves as the Mercs defeated the Bombers 1-0 Sunday night in Morden. The best-of-five series is tied at two. The deciding fifth game goes Tuesday night in Warren.


The Manitoba Moose fell 6-3 to the Iowa Wild. Ville Heinola, Brad Lambert and Dmitry Kuzmin did the goal scoring for the Moose. The Wild led 2-1 and 5-2 at the period breaks.


Brad Gushue won his sixth Canadian men's curling championship in eight years. Gushue, vice-skip Mark Nichols, second E.J. Harnden and lead Geoff Walker defeated Saskatchewan's Mike McEwen 9-5 in the Brier final Sunday night in Regina. Team Gushue will now represent Canada at the World Men’s Curling Championship, March 30th-April 7th in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.


Lauren Evason & Rylan Campbell outscored Zoey Terrick & Tanner Graham 6-5 in an extra end in the final of the inaugural Provincial U20 Mixed Doubles championship at the Charleswood Curling Club in Winnipeg.

The Eastman Selects were eliminated by the Brandon Wheat Kings in round one of the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League playoffs. Eastman head coach Bruce Sirrell will join Clayton Dreger on the Selects Report which airs Mondays at 5:15 p.m. on AM 1250 Radio.
