At 3:30 pm Thursday afternoon, Environment Canada reported that the snowfall warning will remain in effect for tonight and residents of southeastern Manitoba are to expect snow this evening, heavy at times.

The slow-moving system will continue to impact the southeastern Canadian prairies and spread snow through parts of southern Manitoba overnight with amounts of 10cm expected by Friday morning.

So far, the snow has been heaviest in areas close to the western escarpment of the Red River Valley, where residents could see more than 20cm by tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, Public Safety Canada is asking motorists to be prepared to adjust their driving to the changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced, especially in heavy snow, causing deteriorating travel conditions.
